Terms of Service

Terms of Service and Distribution Agreement
These terms govern the website, your account, and the music distribution services provided by CROWNTUNE DISTRIBUTION LLC, doing business as Crowntune. They take effect when you accept them through our registration or submission process. If you act for a label, artist, or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind it. The Anti Fraud and Artificial Streaming Policy, Content and Metadata Guidelines, and Copyright and Infringement Policy form part of this agreement. Our privacy notices explain how we handle personal information; accepting this agreement does not substitute for consent where privacy law requires a separate choice.
Who may use Crowntune
You must be at least 18, have reached the age of majority where you live, and be able to enter a binding contract. You must give accurate account, identity, tax, and payment information and keep it current. You are responsible for activity under your account and for anyone you permit to use it. Keep your login details secure and notify support@crowntune.com promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. We may require information reasonably needed to verify identity, ownership, payment instructions, or compliance before approving a release or payout.
What we do
Crowntune submits approved recordings and associated materials to selected digital music stores, streaming services, and other platforms (each a “Platform”). A Platform decides whether, where, when, and how a release appears, and may change or remove it under its own rules. We do not promise acceptance, placement, a release date, uninterrupted availability, a particular number of streams, or any amount of revenue. Delivery timelines and reporting depend partly on Platforms and their partners.
Crowntune distributes sound recordings. Unless we separately agree in writing, we do not administer publishing, register compositions, collect every type of performance or mechanical royalty, obtain licenses for samples or other material, or provide legal or tax advice. You remain responsible for those rights and obligations.
Your music and rights
You keep ownership of your recordings and other material. You grant Crowntune a worldwide, nonexclusive, sublicensable license, for the period your release is distributed and the reasonable wind-down period, to reproduce, encode, store, deliver, distribute, make available, publicly perform and display, and otherwise use your recordings, artwork, artist names, likenesses, metadata, and promotional materials as needed to provide the service, enable Platform features, identify your releases, and account for them. We may make technical changes such as file conversion, previews, formatting, and metadata corrections required for delivery. This license carries through to Platforms and technical partners only as needed for those purposes. You authorize us to receive the resulting distribution revenue and account to you under these terms. Distribution is limited to territories in which you have the necessary rights; tell us of restrictions before submission, and do not select a destination we cannot restrict as needed. Platform pricing, royalty models, and usage rules apply, and there is no guaranteed per-stream rate. Social video uses, synchronization within a Platform, or automated rights claims are included only if that service is offered and you authorize it. These terms alone do not authorize a separate film, television, advertising, or other off-platform synchronization license.
You authorize Crowntune to be the delivery source for a release on the Platforms you select while we distribute that release, so duplicate deliveries do not cause conflicts. You must tell us if the same recording is already delivered there by another distributor. You remain free to exploit your music elsewhere subject to avoiding conflicting deliveries and any separate label agreement.
You represent that you own or control all rights needed for the uses above, have permission from all contributors, and can pay any writers, producers, featured artists, labels, licensors, or other participants owed a share. You also represent that the content and metadata are accurate, do not infringe rights or impersonate anyone, and comply with applicable law and Platform rules. Your permissions must cover the master recording, the underlying composition to the extent your grant requires it, artwork, performances, names, and likenesses. You must tell us promptly if those rights expire or become disputed. You remain responsible for contributor payments and licenses that are your responsibility; nothing here requires you to pay a royalty twice where it is already properly paid by a Platform. Uploading a file does not transfer ownership to Crowntune.
Content review and prohibited releases
Crowntune may accept, reject, delay, restrict, suspend, or remove any account or release in its discretion, including for commercial, quality, technical, rights, security, fraud, or Platform concerns. We may request evidence of identity, ownership, permissions, promotion methods, or compliance at any time. Approval does not verify your rights, waive a later objection, or require us to continue distribution. We have no obligation to review every submission or detect every violation. Crowntune does not accept cover songs or AI generated music. Our Content and Metadata Guidelines contain additional requirements. You must obtain all necessary permissions before submission.
Codes metadata and delivery
You must supply complete and correct artist, contributor, release, and rights information. Crowntune or a Platform may assign or use identifiers such as ISRCs and UPCs where needed. You must not reuse identifiers for different recordings or submit duplicate releases that confuse stores or listeners. We may correct obvious formatting issues or ask you to resubmit. You remain responsible for the underlying accuracy. Platform rules, territory availability, technical requirements, and content policies can change.
Statements and payouts
Royalties are payable only from cleared funds actually received by Crowntune and attributable to your recordings, after the revenue share, adjustments, deductions, reserves, and offsets authorized by this agreement. Platforms determine their reporting and payment schedules. We may rely on their reports and determinations without independently auditing them, challenging their calculations, pursuing collections, or advancing funds they have not paid. Dashboard figures are provisional and can change. We may correct reports and account balances, recover overpayments, and apply returns, reversals, chargebacks, taxes, currency adjustments, and amounts you owe us against current or future earnings. You must repay a remaining amount owed on demand. Deductions are applied without duplicate recovery of the same amount.
You may request a payout when your available balance, after applicable holds and deductions, reaches US $10. Payouts are by bank transfer or PayPal using payment details we accept and verify. You must provide complete and accurate identity, tax, rights, and payout information and satisfy any compliance checks. We may reject, return, or defer a request that fails these requirements. Third-party transfer, currency conversion, return, and payment-processing charges attributable to your payout may be deducted from it. Rates applied by the relevant Platform, intermediary, bank, or PayPal govern conversion. You are responsible for taxes except amounts we are legally required to withhold.
Payout requests are processed according to our administrative procedures, receipt and reconciliation of reports and cleared funds, compliance checks, and payment-provider availability. No fixed payment date or processing period is guaranteed. A payout request does not override a hold, reserve, dispute, or offset. Unless required by law or a separate signed agreement, we do not pay interest on balances or establish an escrow or trust account for you. Contact support@crowntune.com about a payout or statement.
You must send a specific written statement objection, identifying the period, releases, amounts, and basis, within 12 months after the statement is made available. To the extent permitted by law, a statement becomes final as to your objections after that period. This contractual objection period does not override a nonwaivable right. We may correct errors or apply Platform adjustments after that period. No contractual right to audit Crowntune or a Platform is granted by these terms.
Holds reserves and recovery
To the extent permitted by law, Crowntune may withhold payment, restrict withdrawals, and establish a reserve against some or all of an account balance whenever we determine in good faith that there is suspected or alleged infringement, artificial streaming, fraud, a breach of these terms, unreliable account or payout information, a competing ownership or payment claim, potential repayment or indemnity liability, a Platform or payment-provider concern, or a legal or regulatory requirement. We may act on reports, complaints, irregular activity, or other risk indicators without a final judgment or proof of intentional wrongdoing. A Platform's finding or withholding can apply regardless of who caused the activity.
A hold or reserve may cover the account as a whole, including receipts from other releases in that account, where we consider that necessary to address the account's risk or potential liability. We determine the amount and duration in good faith based on the information available and the potential exposure. There is no fixed contractual investigation period, automatic release date, or requirement to pay a balance merely because an account is closed. We may maintain a hold while concerns, related claims, possible chargebacks, repayment exposure, or required verification remain unresolved. We may condition release on satisfactory evidence, Platform clearance, resolution between claimants, a binding order, or other information sufficient to address the risk. We may modify or release a reserve as circumstances warrant, subject to applicable law.
You authorize us to deduct or offset Platform penalties, reversed or invalid revenue, chargebacks, refunds, overpayments, and losses, liabilities, expenses, and reasonable legal or investigation costs attributable to your breach, content, conduct, or obligations under this agreement. A reserve for potential exposure is distinct from a final charge. Amounts ultimately withheld, invalidated, recovered, or required to be returned to a Platform or rightful claimant are not payable to you. We may pursue recovery beyond the balance in your account and use other available remedies. Amounts remaining payable after holds and authorized deductions are subject to the ordinary payout requirements.
We may request your cooperation, restrict distribution, remove releases, suspend accounts, and communicate with Platforms, providers, advisers, authorities, or claimants as appropriate. Except as required by law, we are not required to give advance notice, provide confidential reports or detection methods, complete a review within a particular time, or offer an internal appeal. You may submit relevant information to legal@crowntune.com. The Anti Fraud and Artificial Streaming Policy provides further examples.
Copyright complaints and takedowns
Send ownership or infringement concerns to legal@crowntune.com with release links, the work at issue, contact details, and the basis of the claim. Our Copyright and Infringement Policy explains the applicable process. We may restrict disputed releases and earnings while rights are unresolved; we do not adjudicate ownership disputes. For a voluntary takedown, email support@crowntune.com with the release identifiers. Requests are subject to authority checks, any signed label deal, technical processing, and Platform procedures. We do not guarantee a completion date. Platforms control removal from their services, and prior uses, purchases, caches, and later accounting may continue. Statutory notice obligations apply where required.
Suspension termination and final accounting
Crowntune may suspend, limit, or terminate any account, release, or service at any time in its discretion, with or without cause or advance notice, to the extent permitted by law. We may discontinue distribution or an account for commercial reasons, inactivity, risk, noncompliance, or changes in our relationships with Platforms. We are not required to give an opportunity to cure or undertake an internal appeal before acting, except where law or a separate signed agreement requires it. A suspension or termination does not entitle you to compensation for lost opportunities, expected earnings, or disruption, subject to nonwaivable rights.
For Crowntune Elite, you may request termination by emailing support@crowntune.com from your account address and identifying the account and releases to remove. A signed label deal may specify a different term and removal process. Removing one release does not automatically close the account. Our license continues as necessary to process removals, fulfill existing Platform commitments and valid end-user uses, and complete accounting, claims, and other administration. We do not guarantee that a Platform will stop all use immediately. Late receipts remain subject to the revenue share applicable to the underlying activity.
Termination does not accelerate a payout, remove the US $10 minimum, cancel a hold or reserve, or discharge an amount you owe. Final and subsequent receipts remain subject to reconciliation, verification, adjustments, deductions, and the ordinary payout requirements. We may make an exception to the minimum in our discretion or where law requires. Unclaimed balances are handled as required by applicable law. Payment adjustments, recovery rights, confidentiality obligations, indemnities, liability limits, necessary licenses, and provisions intended to survive remain effective after termination.
Changes to the service and agreement
We may change, limit, suspend, or discontinue features, destinations, eligibility criteria, and service offerings in our discretion. We may amend these terms by posting an updated version and revision date. Changes take effect on posting or a later date we specify, subject to any notice or consent required by applicable law. Where required, we will use an appropriate account or email notice. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law. If you do not accept a change, stop submitting releases and request termination under section 10. Changes do not retroactively alter the revenue share applicable to earlier activity or override a separate signed deal except as that deal permits.
Website use and availability
You may use the site and account tools for lawful management of your releases. Do not access another account without permission, interfere with the service, introduce malicious code, bypass security or usage restrictions, or scrape private account information. Crowntune and its licensors retain rights in the website, software, and branding. Your account does not give you ownership of them. Keep your own copies of music, artwork, metadata, and records; the service is not a substitute for your archive.
Maintenance, technical faults, third-party failures, and circumstances beyond our control may interrupt the service. No support response time, uptime, or recovery commitment is provided unless separately agreed in writing. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available and without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. These qualifications do not excuse an accrued payment obligation or exclude a guarantee that applicable law makes mandatory.
Indemnity and liability limits
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Crowntune, its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, distribution partners, and licensees against claims, demands, proceedings, liabilities, damages, settlements, and reasonable costs, including legal fees, arising from your content, promotion, use of the service, breach of these terms, inaccurate information, infringement, violation of law, or obligations to contributors or other third parties. This applies to acts of people acting for you and survives termination, subject to limits required by law. You must reimburse covered amounts on demand. We may control the defense and settlement of a covered matter with counsel of our choice, at your expense, and require your cooperation. You may not settle a claim in a way that affects an indemnified party without that party's prior written consent.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Crowntune and its affiliates, personnel, partners, and licensors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of profits or expected royalties, lost opportunities, loss of goodwill, or loss of data, even if advised of the possibility. We are not responsible for independent Platform decisions, payment-provider failures, or events beyond our control. Crowntune's aggregate liability arising from or relating to the service or this agreement is limited to the amount Crowntune retained as its revenue share from your account during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These exclusions and limits apply across contract, tort, and other legal theories to the extent permitted by law. They do not extinguish a royalty balance properly payable under this agreement or exclude liability that applicable law does not allow us to limit.
Disputes
Direct a dispute notice to legal@crowntune.com with the relevant account, supporting information, and relief sought. We may attempt an informal resolution without waiving any right or remedy. Unless a separate signed agreement provides otherwise, a dispute may be brought before a court with jurisdiction under applicable law. Either party may seek available interim relief. Nothing in these terms excludes a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
General terms and contact
The parties are independent contractors. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains effective. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver. These terms and any applicable signed label deal are the agreement about the service, subject to mandatory law. You may not assign your account or agreement without our written consent; we may assign or transfer the agreement and delegate performance to affiliates, successors, service providers, or an acquirer, subject to applicable law. Notices may be delivered electronically to your account or last supplied email address. You must keep that address current. No statement by support changes these terms unless confirmed by an authorized Crowntune representative in a written amendment. Contact legal@crowntune.com for legal notices and support@crowntune.com for account help.
Content and Metadata Guidelines
These guidelines apply to music, artwork, credits, descriptions, and other material submitted to CROWNTUNE DISTRIBUTION LLC. They form part of the Terms of Service. We may reject or remove a release that does not meet them or a Platform's current rules.
Rights and originality
Submit only recordings you own or are authorized to distribute, with permission for every sample, beat, artwork element, featured performance, and other protected contribution. Keep written proof, including contributor permissions and any licenses for samples, beats, or artwork. A nonexclusive beat license must authorize the intended distribution and does not necessarily authorize automated rights claims against other people using the same beat. A royalty-free label, public online availability, or purchase of a file does not necessarily give you distribution rights. Do not upload unauthorized remixes, bootlegs, karaoke copies, soundalikes, stolen recordings, or content that impersonates another artist. Crowntune does not distribute cover songs, even if you obtained a mechanical license. A claim that a composition is in the public domain does not establish that someone else's recording or arrangement is free to use; supply evidence of the rights in every part of a proposed release.
AI generated music
Crowntune does not accept music generated in whole or in part by artificial intelligence. That includes recordings with AI-generated vocals or instrumentals, synthetic performances, or cloned voices. Ordinary production tools such as equalizers, noise reduction, and mastering effects do not by themselves make a recording AI generated, but a tool's label does not decide eligibility; we may ask how the recording was made. Do not use a person's voice, likeness, or identity without permission.
Accurate metadata and artwork
Use the correct artist names, titles, contributors, explicit-content flags, language, release dates, and recording identifiers. Do not add another artist's name to attract searches or use misleading “official,” “live,” “remix,” or genre claims. Do not submit duplicate releases, repeated near-identical tracks intended to game discovery, or unrelated keywords in titles or credits. Artwork must be yours or licensed and must match the release. Avoid trademarks, logos, personal information, or third-party images without permission.
Platform and legal standards
Do not submit unlawful content, threats, targeted harassment, material that sexually exploits minors, material that violates another person's privacy or publicity rights, or content intended to deceive listeners or Platforms. Mark explicit lyrics and artwork accurately. A lawful artistic reference or explicit-content label does not excuse infringement or another Platform violation. Platform specifications for audio, artwork, spelling, and metadata can differ and change. We may request revisions or documentation, limit a release's destinations, or decline it. Approval is a distribution decision, not a legal opinion about your rights.
Audio quality and release changes
Submit complete, playable files that meet the specifications given during submission. Do not disguise a low-quality file by converting it to a larger format. Avoid accidental silence, clipping, corrupted audio, unrelated files, and misleading previews. If a substantial change creates a different recording, a new identifier or release submission may be required. Transfers should preserve valid identifiers and accurate original release dates where Platform rules permit.
Corrections and concerns
For a correction or removal, email support@crowntune.com with the artist, release title, and identifiers. For a rights complaint, email legal@crowntune.com. See the Copyright and Infringement Policy and Anti Fraud Policy for related procedures.
